What are we tracking? The Brandon Police Service (BPS) records all other crimes which includes: Indecent acts, child pornography, offensive weapons, beach of court orders, failing to appear in court, counterfeit money, resisting/obstructing police, unlawfully at large, possessing break-in instruments and disturbing the peace.
How are we measuring this?In 2020, the total number of calls BPS received pertaining to other crimes was 1,417. The most suitable strategies are developed based on crimes in high target areas, such as: education and suppression techniques.
What progress are we making? The offences are recorded on the Police Report Occurrence System and compiled into a monthly report and shared with BPS members to formulate strategic initiatives. The numbers recorded are based on the total calls received, not the number of charges laid.
Please note that the Brandon Police Service Scorecard totals may be subject to change to more accurately reflect our Records Management System. Enquiries regarding these changes can be directed to the Brandon Police Service Media Relations Officer
