What are we tracking?

The Brandon Police Service (BPS) records all calls for service, which include: traffic accidents/hazards, traffic and pedestrian stops, breach of peace, assistance to the general public and businesses/agencies, missing persons reports, animal control, by-law enforcement, summons and subpoena services, community and school presentations, and all criminal activity.

How are we measuring this?

In 2021, the total number of calls for service BPS received was 39,831.  The information gathered is utilized to educate the public and develop specific strategies geared toward areas which record a higher number of calls.

What progress are we making?

The offences are recorded on the Police Report Occurrence System and compiled into a monthly report and shared with BPS members to formulate strategic initiatives. The numbers recorded are based on the total calls received, not the number of charges laid.

Please note that the Brandon Police Service Scorecard totals may be subject to change to more accurately reflect our Records Management System.  Enquiries regarding these changes can be directed to the Brandon Police Service Media Relations Officer
